Chainsaws for Logosol chainsaw mill owners.

We are licensed to sell Stihl chainsaws with Logosol chainsaw mills (not the chainsaws on their own). So we offer a selected range of Stihl chainsaws suitable for milling with Logosol chainsaw mills.

We can also offer the below chainsaws to recent purchasers of a Logosol chainsaw mills who did not initially buy one with their mill. If you have recently purchased a Logosol chainsaw mill, you can select from the below models.

At chainsaw stores these chainsaws would come with standard bars and chains. As most of our customers are likely to use these chainsaws primarily for milling, we provide them without standard bars and cross cutting chains. As we don't supply these standard bars/chains with our chainsaws, we suitably reduced them from manufacturers list price.

You can option up these chainsaws with our ripping bars and chains as appropriate for your sawmill and milling requirements. A selection of suitable milling bars and chains are also included below.

Please note: With regards to STIHL chain saws, it is essential to have personal contact with each and every customer to ensure appropriate personal hand over and the necessary instruction is carried out with the customer to take care, that the customer is aware of the safety instructions contained in the user manual and the correct use and care of the STIHL chain saw. Because of the this, please be informed that online sales of STIHL chains saws is not possible. If you are interested in purchasing STIHL chains saws separately, please call us on 1300 769 258 or email support@logosol.com.au in order to facilitate the purchase.

Thin kerf chains on an MS661 are primarily used for ripping. Cross cut thin kerf chains are available.

To use a more regular 3/8th 1.6mm drive link gauge chain, a standard 3/8th drive sprocket is required to be fitted to this chainsaw.

Suggested bar lengths: 50 to 90cm. 120cm possible depending on log being milled.

More info: At chainsaw stores the Stihl MS661 C-M chainsaw is sold with a drive sprocket cover that has captive bar nuts built into it. A great feature that saves you potentially loosing these nuts in the field. But to fit the MS661 to a chainsaw mill the captive nuts need to be removed. It is possible to push them out of the cover and use standard non-captive bar nuts. With the MS661 C-M we sell, Stihl swaps the cover over at the Stihl factory for us, to a regular cover with non-captive bar nuts.

With the changeover of the drive sprocket and cover, our Stihl MS661 C-M chainsaws are more suitably configured for Logosol chainsaw milling.
