IDEAL TOOLS: Excited, yes! This is a fantastic development in the evolution of Festool table saws. Festool Precisio CS70 and CS50 table saws are a great worksite and workshop portable saw. They feature highly accurate cutting, chip free finish, ease of use, MMC electronics variable speed with constant torque, and cutting performance, and compact/light weight for easy transport. However the introduction of this new table saw with SawStop technology will add even more benefits and safety to the range of fantastic Festool table saws.
SawStop machines are well-known for their safety and technology, as well as a wide range of technical features. Through a product development partnership, Festool we’re excited to announce that there’s a new Festool table saw with SawStop technology on the way, due to arrive down under in the first half of 2020!
Here are some early drawings of the new Festool table saw with SawStop technology.
The SawStop technology continues to develop including an intelligent electronic solution that permanently monitors the operating status of the entire system and provides greater safety during sawing.
The company SawStop is known for its AIM (Active Injury Mitigation)-Technology. Saws with this technology detect contact with skin within milliseconds and the sawing blade is stopped immediately. The blade carries a small electrical signal, which the safety system continually monitors. When skin contacts the blade, the signal changes because the human body is conductive. The change to the signal activates the safety system.
This teaser video shows the SawStop technology in action.
Stay tuned for more updates on the new Festool table saw with SawStop technology.
